The Work and Pensions Committee has published a report urging the government to support savers making decisions about their money. The report states that the government should trial automatic Pension Wise guidance appointments as, although the extra freedoms established in 2015 were a success, pension freedoms could still be seen as a failure unless savers receive appropriate advice. There should be two trials, one with an appointment when a person first accesses their pension and other when the individual is 50, before they can access their pension savings.
