Draft secondary legislation has now been published to transfer the functions of the Independent Safeguarding Authority to the newly formed Disclosure and Barring Service. The transfer is intended to take effect on 1 December 2012. The Independent Safeguarding Authority will be dissolved immediately following the transfer of its functions.
