The Financial Stability Board (FSB) has launched a consultation on ten high-level recommendations to address the regulatory, supervisory and oversight challenges raised by ‘global stablecoin’ arrangements. The recommendations have been drafted in response to a call by the G20 in June 2019 for the FSB to examine regulatory issues raised by these arrangements and to advise on multilateral responses as appropriate, taking account of the perspective of emerging markets and developing economies. The consultation closes on 15 July 2020.
