The first five employers who have failed to pay the national minimum wage under the revamped naming and shaming scheme which came into effect in October 2013 have been named by the Government in a press release which also confirms that 7 March 2014 is the date on which the financial penalty for underpayment will be increased to 100% of the total underpayment, up to a maximum of £20,000.
