The Prime Minister has announced that coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions that will be put in place after the end of the current lockdown. The new rules are intended to take effect on 2 December 2020.The end of the lockdown will mean that, from that date, people will be able to leave their home for any purpose. However, also from that date, three revised tiers of restrictions will be put in place in local areas of England, named 'Tier 1: Medium alert', 'Tier 2: High alert' and 'Tier 3: Very High alert'. The revised tiers are more restrictive than the pre-lockdown tiers, as summarised in the Prime Minister’s speech and explained more fully in the new DHSC guidance document.
