Article summary

The Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, has announced that all travel corridors with the UK have been suspended, to prevent the spread of new variants of coronavirus (COVID-19) into the UK, such as those first identified in South America, and to protect residents from as yet unidentified strains. All arrivals who have departed from or transited through a country outside the Common Travel Area in the previous ten days will be required to both take a pre-departure test, and self-isolate immediately on arrival. The new measures will be reviewed on Monday 15 February 2021.
