If a licensor applies for a Countryside Stewardship agreement, it is his responsibility to ensure that the licensee does not breach the terms of the scheme agreement. He must ensure that the licensee is aware of those requirements of the scheme agreement, which are relevant to the licensee. It is recommended by Natural England in its guidance that the scheme requirements should be included as licensee’s obligations in the written licence agreement.
