Where a farmer decides to dispose of land included within a Countryside Stewardship Scheme agreement (whether by sale, lease, other transfer or due to a business reorganisation) during the period of the scheme agreement, he is obliged to inform the Rural Payments Agency, Natural England or the Forestry Commission (depending which is relevant to the scheme agreement) in advance of the disposal. The farmer must then submit a change of ownership form (which is signed by the incoming occupant) within 90 days of the change. The new occupiers also need to register with
