The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has opened a consultation on the storage and retention of Wills and other documents submitted in applications for probate. Views are sought on reforms that will enable older Wills and documents to be converted to a digital form and then destroyed, with the Wills of famous persons preserved. The MoJ welcomes views from court users, the legal and archivist professions, probate practitioners and historians, the judiciary and anyone else with an interest in this topic. The consultation closes on 23 February 2024.
