454 Agricultural activities subject to local authority controls

Some common agricultural activities require a permit to be issued by the local authority if thresholds are exceeded1. It is an offence to carry out such an activity without the requisite consent2.

The aim of the environmental permitting regime is to3:

        protect the environment and human health;

  2. 454.2

        deliver permitting and compliance effectively and efficiently in a way that provides increased clarity and minimises the administrative burden on both the regulator and the operators of facilities;
