507 Hazardous waste

The Hazardous Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 20051 give effect to the 2008 Waste Framework Directive2 and apply to agricultural wastes. Hazardous wastes commonly found on farms will include, for example, agrochemicals, oils, fuels, asbestos sheeting and pesticides. If a farm produces more than 500 kilograms of hazardous waste per year, then it will be necessary to register with the Environment Agency3.
