The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) and National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) have launched a consultation on a new draft Cyber Governance Code of Practice to improve businesses’ cyber resilience. The proposed guidelines seek to make cyber security issues a key focus for businesses and make recommendations for directors to set out clear roles and responsibilities across their organisations, to have detailed response and recovery plans in the event of cyber incidents which are regularly tested and to have formal systems for reporting incidents among other recommendations. The government has also published its response to its call for views on software resilience and security for businesses and organisations. The deadline for response for the consultation on the Cyber Governance Code of Practice is 19 March 2024.
