HM Courts & Tribunals Service has announced that it will be rolling out the use of Cloud Video Platform for Prison to Court Video Links in magistrates’ courts. In line with the current process, defence firms can expect to receive an email from the court two days prior to the hearing requesting the name of the defence advocate. To meet these prisons’ security requirements, defence advocates need to provide their names (or up to three names to allow flexibility) by 2pm the day before any confidential consultation with a client and provide the required forms of identification to prison staff upon arrival.
