Planning analysis: On 29 April 2022, the 2021–22 Parliamentary session came to a close with a prorogation announcement. To mark the formal start of the 2022–23 Parliamentary session, on 10 May 2022, the State Opening of Parliament took place, at which the Queen’s Speech was read out by HRH Prince Charles. The Queen’s Speech sets out the government’s legislative and policy agenda for the new parliamentary session. We summarise the key planning announcements.
