NCSC CEO delivers speech on responsible use of commercial cyber capabilities

The UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has reported that its CEO, Lindy Cameron, delivered a speech at Tel Aviv Cyber Week on 28 June 2022, emphasising the importance of legal and responsible use of commercial cyber capabilities. Cameron discussed that as ransomware continues to be the biggest global cyber threat organisations face, it is imperative that prosperous relationships are fostered between academia, industry and governments in order to counter the latest cyber threats. Cameron also spoke about the international regulation of sophisticated cyber capabilities and underlined the importance of producing, and using, these capabilities in a way that is legal, responsible and proportionate. Cameron lastly highlighted some of the initiatives the NCSC has in place to fight against cyber threats.
