The Metropolitan Police Service (Met) has announced that it will begin using live facial recognition (LFR) technology in locations with high levels of criminal activity in London. Each deployment will be assigned a bespoke watchlist for individuals wanted for serious and violent offences. The system will provide police officers with prompts of suspicious individuals which officers can then choose to engage with.
