The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has made a statement responding positively to the government laying the Age Appropriate Design Code, otherwise known as the Children's Code, before Parliament. Welcoming the move, ICO said that it was a huge step towards protecting children online. The Children's Code is required under section 123(1) of the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018). The Children's Code aims to ensure online services appropriately safeguard children’s personal data.
