The Home Office has announced that is has begun issuing formal removal direction letters to those UK asylum seekers who are set to be relocated to Rwanda, with the first flight on 14 June 2022. According to the Home Office, this is the final administrative step in the Migration and Economic Development Partnership with Rwanda that forms part of the government’s New Plan for Immigration. The issuing of these letters follows from the Home Office’s issued notices of intent in early May that informed some individuals that they were in scope for relocation.
