Eurojust has reported that it has been visited by 12 Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) to discuss the agency’s work in fighting environmental crime, and to ascertain what the European Commission’s proposal for a new Environmental Crime Directive could mean for the agency. Eurojust has also reported that the number of environmental crime cases referred to it by Member States has tripled in the last two years, which Eurojust attributes to its range of services and expertise which can be used to help the Member States tackle environmental crime.
