Following its announcement on 25 March 2022 of updates in relation to the recognition of central counterparties (CCPs) established in third countries under Regulation (EU) 648/2012 (EU EMIR), the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has published modified or new memoranda of understanding (MoUs) concluded with the relevant third-country authorities to reflect key amendments to EMIR introduced by Regulation (EU) 2019/2099.
