The Environment Agency (EA) has confirmed that enforcement officers are targeting an illegal waste site the size of a football pitch in Crowland, Cambridgeshire, in an attempt to shut it down completely. During an inspection on 23 July 2020, the EA discovered illegally dumped waste including metals, plastics, construction and demolition materials and garden waste. The site is under criminal investigation for suspicion of operating without the legally required waste exemptions or environmental permits, and the aim of the site inspection was to gather evidence to disrupt those involved in the dumping of the illegal waste. Enforcement officers have again urged people not to dump waste at The Streddars site on Hundreds Road.
