The European Commission has published data protection guidance for the development of new apps supporting the fight against coronavirus (COVID-19). The Commission has said that the development of these apps and the involvement of the public with them can have a significant impact on the treatment of coronavirus, and therefore form an important role in lifting containment measures. The purpose of the guidance is to ensure that the public have sufficient protection of their personal data and limitation of intrusiveness while using the apps.
