The European Commission has opened a feedback period for the Data Act proposal that was published on 23 February 2022. The aim of the proposal is to facilitate access to and use of data, including business-to business and business-to-government, and to review the rules on the legal protection of databases. The Data Act would not change the current data protection rules, but to fine-tune the balance between rights to access data and incentives to invest in data. The feedback period ends on 9 May 2022.
