Article summary

The Department of Health and Social Care has published a policy paper setting out the provisional common framework on food and feed safety and hygiene (FFSH framework). The FFSH framework sets out proposals jointly developed and agreed between the UK government and devolved administrations regarding co-operation arrangements in key FFSH policy areas after the end of the Brexit transition period (IP completion day). It was agreed by the Joint Ministerial Committee (EU Negotiations) in November 2020 and presented to Parliament for scrutiny by the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care. The government aims to have provisional common frameworks in place in priority areas by IP completion day.
