Dispute Resolution analysis: The Master of the Rolls and the Courts Minister have signed the 125th Practice Direction update, which makes amendments to CPR PD 51R (the Online Civil Money Claims Pilot). The amendments, which were published on 17 November 2020, came into force at 11 am on 16 November 2020. The amendments to the pilot include moving some of the ‘new features’ (relating to directions questionnaires and legal advisers) into standard features to make them more widely available, changes to the mediation ‘new feature’, and enabling claims where the defence is a defence of the whole of the claim to continue within the pilot, even though the defendant is only able to operate on paper.
