6.2.3 Post

Until the advent of electronic mail, it was common in shorter documents simply to provide for the sending of notices by post, usually first class post within the United Kingdom, or air mail from overseas:

‘Any notice ... shall be sufficiently given to any party if sent in a letter by first class or air mail pre-paid post’.
