47 Restrictions on compulsory purchase

Restrictions are imposed on the compulsory acquisition of woodland and land required for the amenity or convenience of a dwelling house. Further, the taking of an undue quantity of land from one owner or tenant, or the displacement of agricultural workers, is to be avoided so far as practicable1. An order for compulsory purchase may provide for the continuance or creation of easements, and in certain circumstances must provide for their creation2.
