70 Agricultural holdings: length of notice to quit

The Agricultural Holdings Act 1986 provides that a notice to quit an agricultural holding is invalid if it purports to terminate the tenancy before the expiry of 12 months from the end of the then current year of the tenancy. This is notwithstanding any provision to the contrary in the contract of tenancy1. Shorter notices may be given in limited circumstances2.
