Where land has been hired compulsorily, the council may, by giving notice in writing to the landlord, renew the tenancy from time to time1. Where land has been hired compulsorily, and the land is shown to be required by the landlord for certain purposes, the landlord may resume possession upon giving to the council (normally) 12 months’ notice2.
