UK Export Finance (UKEF) has announced that the UK and Turkey have agreed a clean civil infrastructure/transport deal worth £1.7bn, the biggest ever deal between both countries, which will help finance a new 503 km high speed electric railway line in Turkey. The deal was designed to help Turkey finance major climate-friendly projects and meet its COP26 commitments, but it will also boost the UK economy, due to a number of lucrative nine-figure contracts which are set to be awarded to UK businesses.
