Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service has amended its contingency plans in light of the more stringent restrictions in place due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The Court of Session will continue to deal with essential civil matters and urgent business such as child abductions petitions and interim interdicts. The High Court will continue dealing with preliminary hearings and adjourn trials while all Sherriff and JP Court business will be consolidated into ten Sheriff Courts, although undertakings will take place in the court specified on the undertaking. In addition, all accused who are in custody and have coronavirus symptoms will be required to use a video link to attend the hearing.
