The Environment Agency has announced that Bedlington magistrate’s court has placed a restriction order on a site in Northumberland to prevent waste from being dumped or burned there illegally. Anyone who enters the land or tampers with the lock, or the notice, will be committing a criminal offence. The restriction order comes after numerous letters were sent, requiring the site to stop taking in and burning waste, were not complied with, and the deadline for an enforcement notice, issued in July 2020 and requiring the site to be cleared, had passed.
