Dispute Resolution analysis: Having considered the principles in relation to letters of request by a foreign court, the court dismissed the application to set aside an order for evidence to be taken by way of oral examination pursuant to a letter of request. However, the court varied the order because the request went beyond what was required for the foreign proceedings, such that it appeared to be a fishing exercise and was oppressive.
