Mlex has reported that the Latvian Data Protection Authority (DPA) issued six fines in 2021 for violations of the EU's General Data Protection Regulation, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (EU GDPR), according to a statement released on 24 February 2022. It also conducted 1,800 investigations, 111 more than in 2020. In addition, the DPA saw 1,000 data protection complaints from individuals.
