Judiciary releases Crown Court Compendium update

Courts and Tribunals Judiciary has published the Crown Court Compendium—June 2022. The Compendium aims to provide guidance on directing the jury in Crown Court trials and sentencing, as well as jury management. This version replaces all previous guidance from the Judicial College. In particular the March 2010 ‘Specimen Directions to the Jury’ in the Crown Court Bench Book, the October 2011 ‘Companion to the Bench Book’ and January 2013 part II of the ‘Companion, dealing with sentencing’ are replaced.
