The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) has welcomed the European Commission’s proposal for a directive on substantiation and communication of explicit environmental claims, the Green Claims Directive. The ICC has reiterated how important a harmonised view on substantiating claims is and has expressed its belief that companies communicating aims to meet environmental commitments or climate goals should demonstrate their methodological approach allowing them to meet these commitments.
