The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has published updated silica guidance for brick and tile manufacturing, stonework and foundries ahead of manufacturing sector focused inspections in autumn and winter 2022. The HSE has warned of the dangers of prolonged exposure to airborne particles of respirable crystalline silica which can cause respiratory conditions such as silicosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
