The Home Office has updated its guidance webpage 'Coronavirus (COVID-19): advice for UK visa applicants and temporary UK residents' on 14 August 2020 to clarify that individuals with leave as a visitor, fiancé(e) or otherwise for six months or less, may switch to a family or private life route until 31 August 2020. It also introduces a new concession, stating that individuals who are unable to make an application at their visa application centre (if it is still closed due to coronavirus restrictions) can attend a visa application centre in any country to submit their application and biometric information, subject to that country's entry requirements. There is no restriction on the type of application that can be made. This concession will be reviewed by 30 November 2020.
