HM Treasury (HMT) has announced that it has updated the Current list of designated persons: UK freezing orders. HMT has said that 'under the Anti-Terrorism, Crime and Security Act 2001, HM Treasury may issue a freezing order in respect of individuals, entities or organisations outside of the UK where there is reasonable belief that they have taken or are likely to take action which is to the detriment of the UK economy, a threat to the life or property of one or more nationals or residents of the UK'.
