GDPR clash between regulators and courts is for EU states to smooth over, top court says

MLex: Decisions made by data protection authorities and civil courts do not take precedence over one another, and the possibility of contradictory conclusions in the same case is for EU states to work out, the European Court of Justice has said. The case was referred from Hungary to the EU’s top court after a man simultaneously appealed a decision by the national data protection authority and brought a civil lawsuit over the same issue.
