This week’s edition of Environment highlights includes news analysis relating to two recent Court of Appeal cases: Neal Soil Suppliers Ltd v Natural Resources Wales (No 2), in which consideration was given to what constitutes ‘recovery’ of waste, and Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd v Williams relating to liability for the spread of Japanese knotweed. This week has also seen announcement that the government will work towards new targets for reducing emissions and launch of the ‘Road to Zero’ strategy, outlining the government’s ambition to make the UK the best place in the world to build and own electric vehicles.
