The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has issued a statement on the government’s proposals to reform the Human Rights Act 1998 (HRA 1998). The EHRC expressed concern that some of the proposals risk reducing protections and lack evidence and advised that any change to the HRA 1998 should be subject to an in-depth consultation process that reflects the views and needs of all groups and particularly those with protected characteristics.
