On 12 July 2022, the Ministry of Justice published statutory guidance about the role of qualified legal representatives appointed by the court under section 31W(6) of the Matrimonial and Family Proceedings Act 1984 and section 85K(6) of the Courts Act 2003. The guidance gives information on the role of the qualified legal representative, including remit, duties and responsibilities. It also considers termination of the appointment of a court-appointed qualified legal representative. The guidance comes into force on 21 July 2022.
