Defra has announced that the UK government is providing £50m funding through the Transitional Labelling Financial Assistance Scheme for businesses which are registered on the Northern Ireland Retail Movement Scheme and have to prepare for new labelling rules under the Windsor Framework. The grants will be provided at a flat rate adjusted by business size with applications open from January to March 2024. The government has also confirmed the extension of the Movement Assistance Scheme, which reimburses certification costs for businesses that cannot use the green lane, until 30 June 2025.
