The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has reported that domiciliary care agency provider Girl Friday Somerset Ltd has been ordered to pay £16,322 for providing care illegally, comprising a £5,000 fine, £11,141 in costs and a victim surcharge of £181. The CQC brought the prosecution after receiving information from representatives of people who had used the agency. The director, Pearl Leyshon, pleaded guilty to providing personal care in people’s own homes without CQC registration.
