The City of London Law Society (CLLS) Land Law Committee (the Committee) has published its response to HM Land Registry’s (HMLR) draft practice guidance on electronic signatures. The Committee welcomed the announcement that HMLR will soon accept electronic signatures. However, the Committee has a number of reservations on the proposed requirements set out in the guidance, as it believes that in its current format, it has a very limited scope.
