Three complaints were received by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) that a radio ad for Barclaycard was irresponsible by encouraging young people to buy things on credit. The ASA did not uphold these complaints. Two more complaints were received by the ASA by people who understood that good credit scores are not essential to rent property and challenged whether the ad was misleading because it exaggerated the impact of retail purchases on a credit score.
