Energy weekly highlights—11 December 2025
This week's edition of Energy weekly highlights covers announcements from Ofgem, including publication of its Final Determinations for the RIIO-3 price controls for electricity transmission, gas transmission and gas distribution networks and approval of CMP448, which will introduce a Progression Commitment Fee (PCF) for projects in the Gate 2 electricity grid connections queue. In addition this week, Great British Energy (GBE) has published its first Strategic Plan, the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) has launched the UK's second carbon storage licensing round and the National Energy System Operator (NESO) has confirmed revised timelines for the Strategic Spatial Energy Plan (SSEP). We also cover the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) publishing statutory notices under the Contracts for Difference (Allocation) Regulations 2014 to establish Allocation Round 7a (AR7a) in relation to non-offshore wind technologies, and other developments.
