The Planning Inspectorate (PI) has published its performance update for May 2021. This update discusses the latest official statistics details regarding its performance from May 2020 to April 2021 for cases in England. The PI have said that they aim to ensure that ‘casework events can be planned ahead with certainty and to keep casework moving whilst protecting the health of staff and customers’. The PI have said that they will continue to follow government advice in line with the roadmap out of lockdown and that physical hearings and inquiries are not being held and that in line with step three of the government’s roadmap, inspectors are now able to undertake some accompanied site visits.
