Ofgem has approved a modification to adjust the Balancing Services Use of System (BSUoS) in order to prevent stakeholders being charged retrospectively by the National Grid Electricity System Operator. It was recommended that this modification be treated as an Urgent Modification Proposal, and it was granted Urgent status on 23 April 2021 due to the significant commercial effect that users would have felt in the alternative. Ofgem decided that the implementation of the proposal will be the best way of achieving its objectives.
